--> "Obsessions" is the debut single by Marina and the Diamonds. It was released as a double a-side with "Mowgli's Road" on 19 November 2008 whilst Diamandis was signed to Neon Gold Records. The song was later featured on her debut studio album, The Family Jewels.
Background
When asked what "Obsessions" was about, Diamandis said:

|
Sonically, "Obsessions" is very bare and exposed. It was my first single. I supposed [it is a sad, dark song]. It's about a relationship, but as with every song it's about two or three different stories and things...Everyone has obsessions and that's why I think people really related to the song very early on. |
Music video
The music video for "Obsessions" was directed by Tim Brown and released onto YouTube on 25 December 2008. The music video show Diamandis assembling a metal diamond with numerous LEDs attached to each bar. It was filmed in front of a white screen similar to its b-side's music video for "Mowgli's Road". At the end, the camera aligns itself to reveal the diamond with the LED lights glowing. Diamandis based the music video on the children's television show Art Attack.
